City Secretary

Amelia Sanchez has lived in Kyle since 1995 and has been employed with the City for 13 years, serving in several capacities, most recently as the City’s Permit Coordinator as well as filling in for some of the former City Secretary’s duties, before taking over the position full time in April, 2007.
“Amelia brings a very unique skill set to this position. Her broad range of experience with City procedures, as well as her intimate knowledge of the Kyle community, makes her the obvious selection for this position,” said Kyle City Manager Tom Mattis. “She has shown to be a capable, competent and loyal public servant and I’m excited about the energy and professionalism that she will bring to the position.”
“I am excited to have this opportunity to serve the City of Kyle and the citizens,” said Sanchez. “I look forward to the challenges and opportunities that come with this position.”
The City Secretary is responsible for taking official meeting minutes, meeting legal requirements for posting notices, administrating elections, and working closely with elected officials and city management.
Mrs. Sanchez is the proud mother of three children; Rebecca, Richard & Robert,and a grandmother to Julian. She and her husband, Cosme, have been happily married since 1968.
