Summer Camps
"Improving Your Quality Of Life" |
It is our goal to offer a recreational program that youth can participate in to maintain a happy,
healthy and active lifestyle; rather than sit on the couch and play video games all summer.
We strive to introduce the children to new and different ways to recreate through physically
and mentally exhilarating field trips, on-site activities and valuable friendships.

Letter to Parents Concerning Breakfast and Lunch Service:
Attention Parents:
Thank you for registering for the City of Kyle’s summer camp program for 2009. We are looking forward to providing an exciting experience for your children and have many great activities planned for them this summer. One thing that will be different this year is the food service. In the past we have been able to take advantage of the state’s free summer feeding program at our camp sites. Due to some changes to the state rules for providing feeding sites during the summer at local schools, only one of our camp sites, Adventure Camp at Wallace Middle School, will be a summer feeding site. Because of this, we will be unable to provide breakfast and lunch for participants of the Voyager Camp at Nelgey Elementary, and Explorer Camp at Fuentes Elementary. The price of these meals was never worked into the price of camp as it was a luxury we were able to take part in. We will still be providing an afternoon snack which has always been a part of the cost of camp, along with the t-shirts, field trips, and equipment use.
Due to this change, all participants of the two youth sites, Negley and Fuentes, will need to bring a lunch with them to camp every day. Those attending our teen site will have the option to bring their lunch or participate in the free summer feeding program.
We suggest getting a cooler lunch bag if you don’t already have one. Placing ice packs in them will help keep the food inside cool. When packing lunches, please refrain from packing stuff that needs to be warmed up or that will spoil easily, for example, mayonnaise. Water will always be provided.
We truly apologize for any problems this may cause and appreciate your understanding. Please feel free to contact, Deidre Flores at or at 512/ 262-3939 if you have any questions about packing lunches or anything else.
Thank you for your understanding.
This camp is not a state licensed child care facility; it is a summer camp program governed by the
