Alcohol Permits & Process

A City of Kyle Conditional Use Permit is required for the following TABC Alcohol Permits:

"BF" - Beer Retailers Off Premise

"Q" - Wine Retailer's Off Premise

"P" - Package Store

"RM" - Mixed Beverage w/ FB

The voters of Hays County and City of Kyle elected to have "On Site Mixed Drink Sales at Restaurants" a few years back.

What this means is a food establishment is eligible to sell alcoholic beverages if more than 50% of their sales revenue comes from food sales.

As these food establishments apply for their State TABC Permits, they need to apply for the City of Kyle Permit.

There are no permits that allow bars and night-clubs in the City of Kyle.

The State and City Permits are good for one year and must be applied for each year.

Public Hearings take place each year as part of the City of Kyle's permitting process.

The City Council approves these Permits each year.

There is a fee associated with City of Kyle Permits. The application lists the fees.
