Boards and Commissions
Planning and Zoning
The Planning and Zoning Commission reviews, monitors, oversees, and makes recommendations to the City Council as to approval or disapproval of plans, plats, replats, zoning changes, comprehensive plan..... etc.

The Planning Commission meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month in the Council Chambers in the Kyle City Hall. The agenda is available here.
Board of Adjustment
Is responsible for hearing and determining appeals regarding the refusal of building permits, appeals resulting from administrative decisions and can permit an exception to, or variation from, the zoning regulations. The Board of Adjustments meets the first Wednesday of each month. Meetings are at the Kyle City Hall and typically start at 6:30 pm unless otherwise stated on the agenda.

Charter Review Commission
In accordance with the City of Kyle Charter, the city council has appointed a Charter Review Commission to review the current charter and make recommendations regarding possible amendments. Recommendations made by the commission must be approved by the city council before going to the voters for final approval.
Council Committees
The Kyle City Council has formally approved a new structure for the City's Committees. A list of the committees and their descriptions are outlined below. Anyone requesting to be considered for appointment to these committees must complete application the and submit to the Mayor. Complete information regarding this new committee structure can be found in the ordinance.
The Strategic Planning and Finance Committee
To study and recommend options for strategic planning and goal-setting; to assist in coordinating efforts to implement City goals;and to recommend issues for in-depth study by the other committees.
The Community Relations Committee
To coordinate and promote the exchange of information related to neighborhood and community issues' to provide information regarding City and community services; to study and recommend options for addressing neighborhood and community issues; to facilitate recognition of members of the community.
The Parks and Recreation Committee
To provide the Parks and Recreation Director with advice and recommendations on all policies, rules, and regulations relating to public parks and recreation programs. (See additional description in ordinance.)
The Public Works & Service Committee
To study, inform/educate the public about, and recommend options related to community service programs, organizations, and facilities including, but not limited to, the Library, seniors programs, and Meals on Wheels.
The Mobility Committee
To study and recommend options for improvement of roads, mass transportation, and mobility and participation in CAPMetro opportunities.
The Safety and Emergency Services Committee
To study and recommend options for emergency procedures and management and the promotion of the public safety.
