Ms. Becky Selbera, is a native of Kyle and lifelong resident of District 2. She was elected to the Kyle City Council Member for District 2 in May 2002 and re-elected in May 2005 for a second term to represent the district she calls home.
She is proud of her founding family roots in the Kyle community. Members of her family was hired and brought
to Kyle to break horses originally for the Nance family ranch. She was raise on Thiele Street on a historic piece of property and lived near the historic stand of oaks where cattle used to be auctioned and loaded on train in the late 1800's. She has many relatives in the community and is proud of those family and community relationships.
She is proud of her role on the City Council in the building of a new fire station for the Kyle Volunteer Fire Department, the successful implementation of a swimming pool project in Greg Park and the transportation improvements to be realized with the opening of the FM 1626 overpass. She looks forward to businesses coming to Kyle to provide essential services important to the community. She additionally is up to the challenge of improvements needed in transportation and other infrastructure areas needed by the community.
She does not forget her original goal of maintaining a high quality of life for Kyle citizens as she and her
relative will continue to live in this wonderful and friendly community.
She is currently employed by a computer consulting firm in Austin and understands well the commuting
issues that Kyle residents that work in Austin face on a daily basis.
Becky Selbera has always been a person who cares deeply about others, her roots and has tried to make life better for all she works with. Her faith and sense of community motivates her to do her best for the City of Kyle and it's residents in her role as City Councilmember in District 2.
Her daughters Jessica Yvette and Rebeca Ashley, both attended Jack C. Hays ISD School. Her only grandson, Christian Angel, is attending Tobias Elementary. Her youngest daughter, Rebeca Perez, has joined the U.S.
Army and is currently serving in Fort Leonard Wood.
