Hello Everyone, I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. I am Ray Bryant, Council Member for the District 6 Place on Kyle City Council. You, the voter, deserve to know about my background and who I am. I am married to a lovely woman, Sandra Bryant, and we have three beautiful children, our daughter, age 10, and our two sons, ages 12 and 13. We have lived in the Amberwood Subdivision since moving to Kyle in April of 2004. My wife and I are both dedicated to our family first and foremost. But we understand the importance of a community and its public schools in shaping our children’s future. That is why we have become so involved in our neighborhood, our schools, and our city affairs. Since moving to Kyle, I have served the Amberwood Homeowners Association in several positions, including as Board Liaison, and currently as President. I have also served on the Board of Adjustments for the City of Kyle, listening to appeals relating to zoning and building permits and the Planning and Zoning Commission. My experience on the Planning and Zoning Commission has afforded me a deep understanding of the critical issues currently facing the City. This experience has given me an appreciation of the problems facing our neighborhoods and allowed me to place them within the wider context of planning for our city as a whole. I’ve gained a greater awareness of how our city government operates and how to get things done. I am a graduate from Texas State University with a degree in sociology and a minor in business administration. For over 20 years I’ve worked with fragile families and children who have suffered exploitation, neglect and abuse. My work experience includes management of staff and budgetary oversight, coordination of strategic planning, working with Boards of Directors, and the implementation of policy and procedures, as well as governmental regulations. I currently work as the Area Director for the Lutheran Social Services in San Antonio, an adoption and foster care agency. I believe that the residents of District 6 deserve a strong voice on the City Council. We deserve a safe, healthy and beautiful community that will continue to thrive. I pledge to represent the concerns of all of the citizens of District 6. And I will always be available to listen to you. I want to hear what your concerns are.
