Water/Wastewater Technicians
The City of Kyle is seeking applications for Water/Wastewater Technicians. Primary functions include: operation and maintenance of Water and Wastewater distribution and collection systems, co-operate with and assist other departments as necessary and required, and assigned. Requirements: high school graduate or equivalent; a valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability to acquire. Preferred Qualifications: competent training and certification from a technical or vocational school and three (3) years general work experience; the skills to operate, maintain and repair City equipment and facilities. Strong consideration will be given to applicants with water and sewer line repair skills and TCEQ certification. Salary: $10 - $14/hr DOQ.

Records Specialist
The City of Kyle’s Police Department has an opening for a Records Specialist. This position will perform complex clerical and technical work with a great deal of independence by performing specialized law enforcement and other criminal justice records data entry, maintenance, verification and retrieval duties in response to internal and external customer requests. Requirements: High School graduate or equivalent plus six months of prior related experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities which evidences a comprehensive knowledge of required job duties and expectations. Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License. TCIS/NCIC certification preferred. Starting Salary: $13.07 DOQ. Human Resources Clerk (Summer/FT Seasonal)
Position Closing Date: June 12, 2009
Duties include: Primary functions include building layout for new HRMS (Spring Brook) and inputting data into HRMS System. Will need to utilize previous HR experience in order to determine which fields are necessary to be built into the HRMS layout. Will need to utilize technology skills and provided training in order to build the layout template. Once layout template is designed, will need to transfer employee data from paper files into HRMS System. At least two years of human resources experience and one year HRMS experience (Peoplesoft, NuView, ACT!, etc) required.
Starting Salary $12.00/hr DOQ
Police Dispatcher
The City of Kyle’s Police Department has an opening for a full-time police dispatcher in its 24/7/365 day facility. This position will operate communication equipment to receive incoming calls for assistance, and dispatch personnel and equipment to scene of emergencies; operate varied computer platforms including TLETS, NCIC; and perform a variety of general support duties related to communication activities as required by the Support Services Manager.
Requirements: High School graduate or equivalent. Must be able to communicate effectively and deal tactfully with the public, speak clearly and precisely, learn broadcasting procedures and protocols, possess general computer skills, work under pressure, and exercise good judgment in emergency situations. Rotating shift assignments are required, which may include weekends and holidays. Basic Telecommunicator Certificate required. (Please provide copy of certificate with application). Salary: $13.55 DOQ.
