Valerie Oliver, vice president of Science of Spin, will present yo-yo techniques for our Summer Reading Program. Her program, "Whirled on a String," will be at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 12. Oliver will teach children about friction, levers, potential and kinetic energy and more.
The first half suitable for all ages is about spin and fun safety. The second segment will be about the science of spin. Using multiple demonstrations with a variety of spinning objects and class participation, Valerie Oliver will introduce students to the physics concepts of spin.
