Steeplechase Park
Frequently Asked Questions
Here are a few of the frequently asked questions, with answers, for Steeplechase Park. If your question is not included, please contact the Kyle Parks & Rec Department.
When can we expect to see the park improvements begin?
Phase 1 has begun with the completion of the park road, underground utilities and parking.
What is included in the next phases of the improvement program?
Phase 2 has also begun with the disc golf course construction. That phase is scheduled to be completed by December 2006 and will include a covered pavilion, restrooms, covered playscape, picnic area and some trails. Phase 3, scheduled to be completed by December 2007 will include more picnic areas, volleyball, improvements to existing playscape and basketball court, more trails and landscaping. When complete, this Capital Improvement Project will be investing over $400,000 back into the community. Not one penny of that money is coming from the General Fund. It was raised through development fees and grants.
Are Pets or animal allowed in the park?
Here is a link to "Pets In Parks" that can answer that question.
Can I use the facilities free of charge or do I have to rent and reserve them?
All park facilities are free to the citizens of Kyle on a first-come basis. But, if you would like to have exclusive use and quaranteed access, you can reserve most of the facilities through the Parks & Rec Office. Reservation Agreement
Can I fish or swim in the Plum Creek?
Swimming is not allowed. You may not be in or on the water. Fishing is allowed with a Texas Parks & Wildlife Fresh Water Fishing License, but there are very few fish in the creek.
Does the City of Kyle have a creek clean-up day?
Yes, usually in March or April, in conjunction with the National Youth Services Day and TCEQ/Keep Texas Beautifull Lake & River Cleanup Program. Look for the Parks & Rec Calendar of Events.
If I wish to report a problem, voice a concern or make a request, how do I do so?
