Steeplechase Park Trail

This park trail lies between Steeplechase and Prairie on the Creek Subdivisions along the Plum Creek. Construction of this trail should be complete by the end of 2006. There are actually two trails in this park, the RED TRAIL is 0.5 miles long and the BLUE TRAIL is 0.7 miles long.

Pet walkers must carry a "pooper-scooper" and remove any deposits.

Both trails begin in the parking lot next to the pavilion. Travel west on the park road. The 0.1 mile marker is between the football field and baseball field. Continue west on the park road and turn left on to the trail next to the parking lot. The 0.2 mile marker is in the middle of the parking lot. Continue on the trail and the 0.25 mile marker is at the start of the concrete sidewalk.

From this point on, you are in the middle of a disc golf course. Watch out for flying saucers!

When you get to the fork in the trail, the BLUE TRAIL goes right across Plum Creek and the RED TRAIL goes straight.

The RED TRAIL stays along the Plum Creek and through the trees, the 0.3 mile marker is a little past the fork. Once you go along the creek, the second creek crossing is on your right, but do not cross it. When you get to the 0.4 mile marker, the trail takes a left and follows the tree line back to the pavilion. The trail is a total of 0.5 miles long. Do it twice for a mile walk.

The BLUE TRAIL crosses Plum Creek at the first crossing. The 0.3 mile marker is at the end of the park entrance, next to the houses on Goldenrod Street. At the sidewalks end, take a left on the sidewalk adjacent to Goldenrod Street. The 0.4 mile marker is just after you pass Wagon Wheel. Continue on the Goldenrod Street sidewalk east toward the park cul-de-sac. The 0.5 mile marker is in the cul-de-sac. Continue into the park parking lot and concrete sidewalk that crosses Plum Creek. After crossing Plum Creek, go straight at fork to make your way back to the pavilion. The 0.6 mile marker is just past this fork in the trail. Whne you make it back to the pavilion, you have gone 0.7 miles. Do it twice for a nearly 1.5 mile walk.
