Waterleaf Park Trails

This park trail is located in Waterleaf subdivision on the far east side of town off FM 150 East. Turn north into Waterleaf until road ends. Turn right on New Bridge Rd, left on Mistletoe and park in the cul-de-sac of Mistletoe and Abundance. This is the start of the RED TRAIL and the BLUE TRAIL.

Pet walkers must carry a "pooper-scooper" and remove any deposits.

The RED TRAIL is an easy 0.7 mile circuit trail that starts at the parking lot, makes its way toward the Plum Creek. The 0.1 mile marker is at the end of the straight-a-way. The 0.2 mile marker is just before you cross over the concrete bridge. The 0.3 mile marker is just before the curve to the left. The 0.4 mile marker is a little before the fork in the trail. The fork is the 0.45 mile marker. Stay to the left trail at the fork and head back to Abundance. Right after you turn left onto the sidewalk adjacent to Abundance, you are at the 0.5 mile marker. After you pass the playscape trail, right at the drainage ditch, you have passed the 0.6 mile marker. When you get back to the starting point, you have walked 0.7 miles. Do it again for almost 1.5 miles.

The 1.3 mile BLUE TRAIL is exactly the same as the red trail, except when you get to the fork in the trail, go right. The 0.5 mile marker is behind the third house you pass. Continue on the trail and after you cross the concrete drainage bridge, you come to another fork in the trail. (The right trail takes you to the cul-de-sac of Tower Dr and Beech Drive. The left trail continues on toward Sheep Trail Road.) At this fork, you have walked 0.6 miles since starting. Take the left trail as it goes behind the homes on Tower Drive. The 0.7 mile marker is just before you reach Sheep Trail. Turn left on to the sidewalk adjacent to Sheep Trail and when you reach the middle of the park/pool parking lot, you have gone 0.8 miles. Turn left at the corner onto New Bridge. The 0.9 mile marker is at the parking lot entrance to the pool. Take the next left, on to Japonica and than go right on to Abundance. When you get on the sidewalk adjacent to Abundunce, you are at the 1.0 mile marker. Stay on the sidwalk heading east as you past the 1.1 mile marker, the 1.2 mile marker and end back where you started for a brisk 1.3 mile walk.
