The Kyle Police Department is accepting applications for the Spring 2016 Citizens' Police Academy (CPA). This academy is designed for adult citizens who either reside in the City of Kyle or who own a business within the City.
The start date of the Spring Academy is Tuesday, March 8, 2016. The academy is 10 weeks long, plus a graduation. Classes are one night per week (Tuesday night’s 6p-9p) plus two Saturdays.
This hands-on course will allow citizens a wonderful opportunity to learn about the operations of the Kyle Police Department. Attendees will also be allowed to ride out with a police officer once reaching a specified level of training. Once the graduate completes the course they are provided the opportunity to join the Citizens' Police Academy Alumni Association designed to maintain close working relationship with the police department and future CPA classes.
Some of the core classes included: Records, Emergency Communications, Patrol Procedures, Mental Health, Mock Traffic Stops, Criminal Investigations and Mock Crime Scene Investigation, Use of Force, Crime Prevention and Gun Range.
If you are interested in being a part of our 9th CPA, please complete the application attached below. Once complete, please return to the Police Department, 111 North Front Street. The deadline for applications is March 4, 2016 by 5pm.
