Notice is hereby given that the polling places listed below will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on May 10, 2014 to vote in a General Election to elect a Mayor, Council Member District 2, and Council Member District 4.

NOTICE OF INDEPENDENT AUDITORS' REPORT
FOR FISCAL YEAR 2012-13
In accordance with the requirements of the City Charter, Article VIII, Section 8.13, the City of Kyle completed an audit of all accounts of the City by an independent certified public accounting firm for the Fiscal Year ended September 30, 2013.
The independent auditors' report for the Fiscal Year ended September 30, 2013 was presented by the auditors to the City Council at their regularly scheduled meeting held on March 18, 2014 at Kyle City Hall.
A complete copy of the City's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and the Independent Auditors' Report are available on the City's website and at the Kyle Public Library. Highlights of the City's financial report for the Fiscal Year ended September 30, 2013 include the following:
The independent auditors conducted their audit of the City's financial statements in accordance with auditing standards generally accepted in the United States of America and applicable government auditing standards issued by the Comptroller General of the United States.
The auditors' issued a "clean" opinion on the financial statements of the City of Kyle without any qualifications. This the highest level or the best type of auditors' opinion issued for audits of financial statements.
The City's overall net position (assets less liabilities) totaled $91.5 million which is $0.6 million higher than the prior fiscal year.
The ending fund balance for the City's General Fund totaled $6.0 million or an increase of $1.5 million or 34% from the prior fiscal year.
Revenue for the City's General Fund from all sources totaled $13.3 million or $1.3 million higher than budget.
Expenditures for governmental functions such as for public safety, public works, parks and recreation, library, municipal court, building inspection, planning, economic development, and general government totaled $13.1 million or $0.4 million below budget.

CITY OF KYLE
The City Council of the City of Kyle will consider adopting the following ordinances on April 15, 2014 at Kyle City Hall, 100 W. Center Street, at 7:30 p.m.:
An ordinance declaring unopposed candidates in the May 10, 2014 Special City Election, elected to office; Canceling the Special Election; providing a severability clause; providing a Spanish-language translation; and providing an effective date.
