The City of Kyle recently initiated the formal legislative process to expand its corporate boundaries by annexing approximately 374 acres of land.
The Kyle City Council has expressed a strong desire to protect and defend the interests of property owners and to effectively manage growth and development in the areas commonly recognized as part of the Kyle community. As a result of public meetings on future land use planning, the Kyle City Council identified the need to create opportunities for consistency and unity in regulation of future land use and platting and the provisions of municipal services, as it relates to our growing and changing community. The applications of City zoning, building, and land development regulations to any properties that are annexed as part of this process will, over the long term, help protect property values. Also, annexation will provide uniformity in the provision of law enforcement services and in the application of ordinances and laws enforced by the Kyle Police Department.
To allow for public comment, questions, and general input on the proposed annexation, the City Council has scheduled two (2) public hearings on this issue. The first public hearing will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at 7 PM at the City Council meeting. The second public hearing will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at 7 PM. Both public hearings will be held at the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 100 W. Center Street, Kyle, Texas. All interested parties are encouraged to attend and offer comment.
