The City of Kyle Parks & Recreation Department has set up "drop-off" areas at the Cities Parks to drop off your dead trees, shrubs and bushes, along with your natural Christmas Trees.
Dead Trees, Bushes and Shrubs
Due to the extreme drought conditions, many residents of Kyle are dealing with dead trees and bushes in the yards.
Although the Kyle Parks and Recreation Department can not help with removing these trees, brush and bushes from the yards, we would like to turn it to mulch to use in the city’s parks and trails. Beginning October 1, 2011, the three main city parks: Gregg-Clarke; Steeplechase; and Waterleaf, will have a drop off site fenced and marked with a sign for residents to drop off their dead trees and brush. We will not be able to mulch fencing, or accept other forms of trash or debris but you are able to contact Texas Disposal System (TDS) to make arrangements for trash hauling from your curbside.
Natural Christmas Trees
All decorations and lights, including tinsel, must be removed. No artificial trees. No nails or screws. No tree bases. The trees will be mulched and used around town for the City Park's landscaping.
The current drop-off points are:
GREGG-CLARKE PARK - (location set up near football field)
STEEPLECHASE PARK - (location set up near basketball court)
WATERLEAF PARK - (location set up near baseball fields)
