About Team Kyle Academy 

Team Kyle Academy is a 7-week program, with the aim of informing residents about their community, creating a more connected and public service focused community here in Kyle. Throughout the course of the academy, residents will be educated about Kyle’s infrastructure, public safety measures, business growth, and everything that goes into the wonderful quality of life enjoyed by residents of Kyle. 

• Classes are structured to be 2 hours long and will be held on Mondays from 6-8pm starting Monday, April 15, 2024 and going through Monday, May 20, 2024.
• No class will be held on Memorial Day on Monday, May 27. 
• The Graduation Ceremony will be held at the City Council Meeting starting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024
• Classes will be held in-person at locations such as Kyle City Hall, 100. West Center Street, the Kyle Public Works Building, 520 RR 150, or the Kyle Public Library and Public Safety Center, 1700 Kohlers Crossing.   
• Dinner will be provided at each class.

The Academy will also require 3 Field Days which will include in person activities and events to give participants a better understanding of city functions and services. Participants will be given a list of various city events/meetings and asked to attend any they choose during the duration of the course. More details will be given on the field days on the first day of the academy.

Mission Statement: To foster public involvement with the City through education and inclusion, in order to establish an open and trusting relationship; while sharing the City’s goals for the future. 

Applications for the 2024 Class are Closed

Application Process

• Application open from March 1-31, 2024
• Qualified Applicants are chosen on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Those accepted into the program will be notified by the email they applied with by Monday, April 1, 2024.
• Any applicants not chosen will be put on a waiting list for future classes. 
• Classes limited to 30 participants.

Applicants MUST confirm that they: 

• Are 18 years old or older.
• Have no current civil or criminal litigation with the City of Kyle or any employees or officials. 
• Are not elected officials.

Participant Expectations 

• Participation is free and does not require an application fee.
• Participants can only miss one class and makeup the absence with attendance to approved event activities/volunteer event to graduate from Academy. 
• To participate, all attendees must sign a liability waiver.
