Kyle Public Library earned the Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award for the 4th year in a row. This award, presented by the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association, is given to libraries that provide their communities with outstanding and innovative services to enrich the lives of their residents.

Of the 571 public library systems in Texas, our library is one of only 53 who have earned this year’s award.

To be considered for this prestigious award, libraries must show proof they provide and/or support:

• services to under served populations either through outreach, special programs, collaborations with other libraries or organizations, special classes, special collections, etc.
• enhanced service to the public through increase in service or a change in type of services.
• current marketing materials highlighting basic services and publicity about specific programs the library offers.
• cultural, topical, and educational programming for adults and families.
• literacy support for all ages.
• a Summer Reading Program; youth, teen and/or adult.
• collaborative efforts with community organizations.
• workforce development.
• digital inclusion by providing public internet access, digital literacy training, and offering library services online.
• professional staff training to include training opportunities for staff at all levels.
