Hays County is designing improvements to Windy Hill Road from the Kyle City limits to FM 2001 to provide safer and more reliable transportation options for travelers and residents.
Proposed Improvements:
- Widening the roadway to add a center turn lane, shoulders and space for mailboxes
- Constructing intersection improvements at Dacy Lane, Shadow Creek Boulevard, Palomino Road, and Mathias Lane
- Adding a turn lane on FM 2001 to Windy Hill Road
- Building a new bridge to replace low water crossing at Andrews Branch Crossing
- Constructing culvert upgrades and drainage improvements
Project Timeline:
- Fall 2020 - Coordination with Property Owners
- Fall 2020 - Preliminary Design
- Spring 2021 - Public Engagement
- Summer 2021 - Finalize Design
- TBD - Construction (not yet funded)
