Open Records Request Information

Open records requests must be submitted in writing. You may submit your request in any of the following ways:

  • GovQA Portal
  • Hand delivery to Attn: City Secretary at 100 W. Center Street (City Hall)
  • Email to jkirkland@cityofkyle.com (City Secretary)
  • United States mail: 100 W. Center Street, Kyle, TX 78640

All requests received via mail, email or hand delivery will be added to the GovQA Portal, and this is how the City will communicate with you regarding your request. The Public Information Act does not require a governmental body to create new information, do legal research, or to answer questions.

Please note, the Kyle Fire Department is a separate entity from the City of Kyle. Please contact the Kyle Fire Department directly for requests pertaining to their records. You can reach the fire department by calling 512-268-3131.

You may also check the Public Records Archive to see if the information you are seeking has been previously requested and released. You can access the archive here.
