The Kyle City Council approved the purchase of the building previously occupied by Papa Jack's at a meeting held on Saturday, January 28, 2023.  The building that was occupied by Jack's Axes was purchased on Saturday, July 23, 2022. The Council is looking to redevelop the site both buildings were on in line with the Downtown Master Plan currently under development. More information will be forthcoming, as plans progress.

Status Updates

Update as of June 8, 2023:

The City Hall drive thru Utility Billing window and parking spots in front of Jack's Axes/Papa Jack's and on the northbound lane of Main Street between Center Street and Lockhart Street will be closed from June 12-23 so that Public Works employees can demo the foundation and level the surface of Jack's Axes/Papa Jack's lots.

Traffic will not be affected. All work is weather permitting.

Update as of April 7, 2023:

The parking spots on the northbound lane of Main Street between Center Street and Lockhart Street will be closed starting Monday, April 10 so city crews can begin demolition of the Papa Jack's Building at 108 W. Center Street.

Traffic along Main Street will not be affected.

Update as of Oct. 20, 2022:

The northbound lane of Main Street between Center Street and Lockhart Street will be closed starting Wednesday, Oct 26 so city crews can begin demolition of the Jack's Axes Building at 110 W. Center Street.

Drivers are asked to observe traffic warning signs and watch out for workers and heavy equipment. All work is weather permitting.
