Downtown Overhead Power Line Relocation

As part of the city beautification initiative, overhead power lines will be removed and power rerouted in an agreement with PEC. 

On Wednesday, Aug. 17 Miller Street from Burleson Street to Main Street and Burleson Street from Miller Street to Center Street will be closed to both traffic and pedestrians starting at 7 a.m. There will also be temporary road closures to east and west bound Center Street from Front Street to Sledge Street and part of N. Burleson Street with police directing traffic from mid morning to early afternoon. Parking on Center Street may be affected during the work.

The work being conducted by PEC is part of the Downtown Overhead Lines Relocation Project.

Drivers in the area should expect delays and are asked to observe traffic warning signs and look out for heavy equipment and flaggers. All work is weather permitting.
