Calendar Date:

Comp. Plan Community Event & Workshop

The community is invited to attend a Comprehensive Plan Community Event and Workshop hosted by the City of Kyle on Monday, Feb. 13 from 6-9 p.m. at Kyle City Hall, 100 W. Center St.

This will be a two-part event:

  • From 6-7:30 p.m., representatives of Verdunity, the firm hired to help the city update the comprehensive plan, will deliver a presentation sharing the results of the citywide Land Use Fiscal Analysis recently completed as part of this planning effort.  The purpose of this first half of the event is to provide education and insights into the property tax revenue productivity throughout the city and discuss how cities can become more financially sustainable. There will also be a Q&A following the presentation.
  • From 7:30-9 p.m. representatives of Verdunity will lead the Kyle City Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission in a workshop focused on facilitating dialogue on a variety of related topics, including policymaking and governance.

This event is part of the City of Kyle’s Comprehensive Plan update. A comprehensive plan is a foundational document that provides rationale for decision-making, recommendations for policy and budgeting, and an examination of the overall picture of the city.

A city needs a comprehensive plan in order to plan for physical, economic and societal growth. They help provide continuity as changes, like staffing or unprecedented growth, impact a city. It also creates a way for cities to be much more proactive to those changes.

The community plays an integral part in creating this plan. Your feedback is key to crafting a comprehensive plan that reflects the challenges that residents are facing as well as what they would like to see prioritized in the community.

The meeting will be held in-person at Kyle City Hall, 100 W. Center St., but other options for participation include streaming online through Spectrum 10 or the City’s YouTube channel.
