Pet Prevent a Litter (PALS) of Central Texas

The mission of Pet Prevent a Litter (PALS) of Central Texas, a non-profit organization, is to help end pet overpopulation and pet homelessness. PALS is dedicated to promoting responsible pet care through community education and spay/neuter programs for those in need. PALS provides a human service by assisting economically challenged people to extend their limited resources to their families, rather than caring for and feeding unwanted pets. We provide spay/neuter services to stop litters of unwanted surplus pets which would likely end up in shelters to be destroyed.

Emancipet

Emancipet is on a mission to make veterinary care affordable and accessible for everyone. They manage an expanding national network of high-quality, low-cost clinics to ensure all pet owners have access to low cost veterinary care (like affordable spay & neuter) for their pets.

Hays County Pet Resource Center

The Positive Alternatives to Shelter Surrender (P.A.S.S.) program is a centralized place of information for help with your pet. Including community resources, medical assistance, behavior resources, re-homing support, and more to keep more pets in homes and out of the local shelter.

The Hays County Pet Resource, Education, and Research Center project launched in April 2023 as a partnership between Hays County and Austin Pets Alive! to recommend and implement a smaller-scale shelter for animals using strong community programs with a data-driven focus to target resources and efforts for people and their pets.
