Kyle Market Days

Enjoy those beautiful Texas mornings, stretch your legs, and support local vendors at the May Market Days - Celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islanders Month on Saturday, May 11 from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Mary Kyle Hartson Park, 101 S. Burleson St.

Visitors can check out local vendors, including food, drink, arts and crafts, and farm-to-market items while enjoying music, live performances, a playground for kids and areas to sit and visit with your friends and neighbors.

Attendees can also look forward to local, live performances in honor of Asian American and Pacific Islanders Month including:

  • Anuradha Naimpally (9:30-10:15 a.m.) - A Bharatanatyam dance soloist, collaborator, and educator, is an experienced performer worldwide. From concert halls to school cafeterias, libraries and universities, Anuradha connects this ancient art of India to modern audiences of all ages through engaging explanations and moving performances.
  • Heavenly Dragon Lion Dance Association (10:30-11:15 a.m.) - A newly established team based in Austin aims to provide authentic, majestic, and captivating performances while promoting and preserving the ancient arts of Lion Dancing and Kung Fu at the highest level. 
  • Island Rhythms Hula Company (11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.) - Authentic traditional and contemporary hula performers.  

The Kyle Area Youth Advisory Council (KAYAC) will have a booth at the May Market Days for their capstone project. The booth will offer attendees an opportunity to paint rocks that will be laid along city trails. KAYAC will also be collecting donations for the Forever15 Project, a nonprofit that spreads awareness and provides resources for preventing fentanyl poisoning.

Market Days often occur in tandem with various community celebrations and take place on the second Saturday of each month (except June) from April to November. Market Days is hosted and organized by the City of Kyle Parks and Recreation Department. The 2024 dates are as follows:

  • Saturday, April 13
  • Saturday, May 11 - Asian American and Pacific Islanders Month Celebration
  • Saturday, June 8 - Celebrating Juneteenth
  • Saturday, June 29 - Celebrating Pride Month
  • Saturday, July 13 - Celebrating the Red, White & Blue
  • Saturday, August 10 - Back to School
  • Saturday, September 14 - Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration
  • Saturday, October 12 - Founders’ Parade
  • Saturday, November 9 - Veteran’s Day Parade

Vendor Applications:

The City of Kyle Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting applications for food and craft vendors.

Vendors are encouraged to apply early as it takes 1-2 business days for applications to be processed. The deadline to apply and pay to participate in Kyle Markets Days is the Monday before the scheduled Market Day. (i.e. if requesting April 13, the deadline is April 8).

Market Days Road Closures:

There will be street closures for the May Market Days on Saturday, May 11 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mary Kyle Hartson City Square Park, 101 S. Burleson Rd.

Starting at 5:30 a.m. and going until 3 p.m. on May 11 the following streets will be closed for the event:

  • Burleson Street from Center Street to Miller Street
  • Miller Street from Burleson Street to Main Street
