City of Kyle Lifts Boil Water Notice

On Wednesday, Feb. 17, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the City of Kyle public water system, TX1050002, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. 

The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of Monday, Feb. 22, 2021.

The City of Kyle also has confirmed water customers will not see a rate increase in water rates as a result of the winter storm as these rates are set by City ordinance in coordination with the City budget process.  

The Boil Water Notice was put in place out of an abundance of caution, and it is not anticipated that there were any contaminants in the water. In accordance with State regulation the Boil Water Notice was lifted as a direct result of water samples being taken that show the water is safe to drink. Water filters are not required to be replaced.  

If you feel there is air in your water lines you can remedy the situation by flushing your pipes for a few minutes. If the issue persists, feel free to contact the Public Works Department.

LA CIUDAD DE KYLE LEVANTA EL AVISO DE HERVIR AGUA

El sistema de agua publica de la Ciudad de Kyle ha tomado las acciones correspondientes para restaurar la calidad de agua distribuida por este sistema usado para beber o consumo diario, y a proveido a TCEQ con resultados de examenes laboratorios indicando que ya no es necesario hervir el agua antes de usar desde el dia de hoy 22 de Febrero del 2021.
