City of Kyle participates in Great Texas River Cleanup 2020 event

KYLE, TEXAS: City of Kyle participated in the Great Texas River Cleanup on March 7, 2020. “We are so grateful for the opportunity to join the City of San Marcos’ event to bring awareness and volunteers to help beautify the river, creeks, and river banks,” says Kathy Roecker, Stormwater Management Plan Administrator. “We want to thank the residents and City Council members Ellison, Scheel and Tobias for coming out and helping us clear areas that could otherwise become problem areas during heavy rains.”

Numbers and Stats from the event:

59 volunteers
770 lbs of recyclables
1 tire
3 Council Members attended
1367 lbs of trash
Most common trash: aluminum cans and plastic bottles 
Most ‘interesting’ find: a submerged bike
