Gathering of the Kyles

KYLE, TEXAS –– The City of Kyle is once again calling upon the Kyles of the world to come together and break the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS ™ for the largest same-name, first name only gathering at the Kyle Fair A Tex-Travaganza on Saturday, May 18.  

“Last year, we were blown away by the amount of Kyles who showed up in honor of their namesake. Nearly 1,500 Kyles answered the call, but we need even more Kyles to break the record in 2024,” said Kyle Fair Special Events Manager Claudia Rocha. “Kyles, you’re our only hope to bring the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS ™ for largest same-name gathering, first-name only to American soil and firmly in the hands of Kyles worldwide.  

The official count will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 18. This year, we encourage all Kyles to pre-register for the Gathering of the Kyles. Pre-registration can be done at KyleFair.com.  

Registration can also be done on site at the Kyle Fair at the following times: 

  • Friday, May 17 from 4 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.  
  • Saturday, May 18 from 8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.  

There is no cost to participate or register in the Gathering of the Kyles. Entry to the Kyle Fair is free, including live music performances. 

All participating Kyles will be given a free Kyle Fair T-shirt, while supplies last. Individuals of all ages are welcome to participate but proof of identification is required.  

Kyle Qualification and Verification Process: 

To qualify to be part of the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS ™ attempt, all participants must have the name ‘Kyle’ - spelled that way. Iterations of ‘Kyle’ such as Kyler, Kyal, or Kylee will not be accepted. Middle names, last names, and nicknames will not be accepted.

The City of Kyle is currently recruiting volunteer Stewards to help with the official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS ™ verification process. For more information, Click Here.  

History of the Gathering of the Kyles: 

This will be the City of Kyle’s fifth attempt at breaking the record. In 2023, Kyles from all over the country answered the call, making it our largest gathering yet with 1,490 Kyles in attendance. The current GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS ™ was set by Ivans on July 30, 2017 in the city of Kupreski Kosci in Bosnia and Herzegovina with a total of 2,235.  

Come for the record, stay for the fun. The Kyle Fair A Tex-Travaganza takes place May 17-19 at Lake Kyle Park, 700 Lehman Rd., for a southern, heel-kickin' good time. This three-day, family-friendly fair includes a great live music lineup, carnival rides and games, food and craft vendors, the first-ever Jackalope 5k Fun Run, and Rib, ‘Rita and Fajita competitions.
