KYLE, TEXAS – The City of Kyle is seeking input from residents in the next phase of its Kyle 2030 Comprehensive Plan, gathering feedback on two growth scenarios for the city.

The community is invited to attend one of two Comprehensive Planning Open Houses where they have the chance to provide input and win a Costco membership.

On Monday, May 22 the City of Kyle will host two in-person Comprehensive Master Plan Open Houses. The first one from 1-4 p.m. at the Kyle Public Works Building, 520 RR 150 and the second from 5-8 p.m. at Kyle City Hall, 100 W. Center St.

The Open Houses will be come-and-go style events where residents will have the opportunity to provide feedback on two growth scenarios for the City of Kyle and discuss the outcomes and trade-offs of each. City Staff and Verdunity, the firm hired to aid the city in creating its new Comprehensive Plan, will be at both events to answer questions and gather feedback.

City of Kyle residents that attend the two Comprehensive Open Houses will be entered to win one of three Costco memberships for themselves or their families. No purchase is necessary to win. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries. A total of three awards possible per open house. Awards are not redeemable for cash. Must be 18 to enter. City of Kyle does not guarantee the quality of Costco’s services or Costco’s acceptance of any awarded memberships.

A Comprehensive Plan Workshop will also be held Tuesday, May 23 starting at 6:30 p.m. at Kyle City Hall, 100 W. Center St. This workshop is a joint meeting between Kyle City Council and the Kyle Planning and Zoning Commission. Verdunity will present possible growth scenarios for the City of Kyle and share input they received on these scenarios from the Open Houses to then be incorporated into the ongoing draft of the Comprehensive Plan.

The meeting will be held in-person at Kyle City Hall, 100 W. Center St., but can also be streamed through Spectrum 10 or the City’s YouTube channel.

Since the Comprehensive Master Plan Rewrite began in 2022, City of Kyle residents have participated in two surveys providing input on what they would like to see prioritized. The results of those surveys are available on Kyle2030.com.

Feedback given at the workshop, open houses and interactive map tool will be used to refine the City of Kyle’s Comprehensive Plan. A comprehensive plan is a foundational document that provides rationale for decision-making, recommendations for policy and budgeting, and an examination of the overall picture of the city. It is also a community-wide effort that requires community input as it expresses the goals and direction a community desires to pursue, and provides a game plan for how to get there.
