KYLE, TEXAS –– The City of Kyle invites community members to join us for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Ribbon Cutting Block Party on Thursday, July 13 from 5-7 p.m. at 941 New Bridge Dr.

The ribbon cutting will include brief remarks by City of Kyle Mayor Pro Tem Michael Tobias and City of Kyle Wastewater Treatment Plant Staff, free snow cones from food truck vendor Kona Ice, a bouncy house for kids, music, and a chance to ask questions and speak with city staff.

There will also be video tours of the Wastewater Treatment Plant, explaining the functions and improvements the plant provides City of Kyle residents as well as information posters showing the various buildings on Wastewater Treatment Plant grounds.

The Kyle Wastewater Treatment Plant expansion project increased treatment capacity from (ADF) of 3.0 million gallons per day (MGD) to an ADF of 4.5 MGD. This is not the final phase of wastewater treatment plant expansion; the City of Kyle is currently working with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality on approving an ADF of 9.0 MGD, with a Final Limit of 12.0 MGD ADF, corresponding to the City’s growth projections.

UPDATE: A previous version of this press release stated City of Kyle Mayor Travis Mitchell would deliver remarks but due to scheduling conflicts Mayor Mitchell is no longer able to attend and Mayor Pro Tem Michael Tobias will instead deliver remarks and be in attendance.
