KYLE, TEXAS – On Monday, Sept. 21 the City of Kyle will reopen all public facilities with restrictions in place to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Per Governor Greg Abbott’s Executive Order, face coverings are still required wherever it is not feasible to maintain 6 feet of social distancing from another person not in the same household.

Remote services will remain available and highly encouraged.

Below is a summary of operational changes in City Departments and Programming. City leadership will continue monitoring COVID-19 statistics locally and future City operations and programming are subject to change.

Kyle City Offices:

  • Will reopen with safety and social distancing standards in place, effective Sept. 21.
  • Customer service will be available on the 1st floor of City Hall including: Utility Billing, Court and the Lobby customer service station.
  • Masks will be required to enter City Offices and Buildings.
  • Remote services will remain available and encouraged.
  • Stay home if you are sick.

Kyle Public Library:

  • The Library will open with a limited capacity to encourage social distancing, effective Sept. 21. with regular hours.
  • The Library will continue to offer window service at the Scott Street Plaza window Monday – Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Reserve items by emailing circulation@cityofkyle.com, calling 512-268-7411 or texting 512-675-2442.
  • Use of Library public computers may resume, and computers will be disinfected after each use.
  • Kyle Public Library will be available by phone at 512-268-7411.
  • Masks for those over the age of 10 required to enter.
  • Stay home if you are sick.

Parks & Recreation:

  • City programming to resume. Registration will begin Sept. 21. All classes will start in October with safety and social distancing protocols in place.
  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • The park system will remain open.
  • Ash Pavilion Ribbon Cutting will be held Oct. 3 as a socially distanced event.
  • Founders Day on Oct. 10 will be a virtual event.
  • Movies at the Lake will be a registration only event and socially distanced.
  • The Spooktacular Drive-Thru, previously known as the Center Street Trick or Treat event, has been modified as a drive-thru event.
  • The Individual and Family Costume Contests as well as the Pumpkin Carving Contest will be held virtually.
  • All other events to be held in-person with safety and social distancing encouraged.

City Facility Rentals:

  • City facility rentals will be allowed with no caps on attendance, but social distancing plans will be required.

Public Meetings:

  • City Council will be held as hybrid meetings — both in-person and virtual.
  • Boards and Commissions may resume hybrid or virtual meetings.

All City Staff will continue to be required to wear masks and social distance while in City buildings and facilities. 

Utility Billing:

Utility billing can now be paid in-person on the first floor of City Hall at Customer Service Windows. Payments can also be made online at https://cityofkyle.dpnetbill.com or by phone at 512-262-3960. Additional ways to make utility payments include online through your bank, or by utilizing the utility payment night drop box located in the drive-thru at Kyle City Hall and in the VFW parking lot on Front Street.
