Sept. 11, 2001 Proclamation

Whereas, Sept. 11, 2001, terrorists hijacked and then flew commercial airplanes into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York, causing both of them to collapse, and the Pentagon in Washington, inflicting severe damage. A fourth terrorist-hijacked plane crashed into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, when passengers who became aware of the attacks attempted to take the plane back. 

WHEREAS, every year since we come together in solidarity’s a nation to remember the first responders and civilians who lives where were cut short by these acts of terror some 19 years ago. 

WHEREAS, that day and the days that followed our Country was united, Americans no matter race, background or Religion where all united in prayer and with a resolve to help the families of victims and first responders who were never given the opportunity to live out their full lives. 

WHEREAS, on Sept. 11, We pay tribute to the first responders and citizens who answered the call to save lives with tremendous acts of courage with no hesitation.  On this National Day of Service and each and every day we must remember to stand united, we do this with understanding, love and respect for one another. 

WHEREAS, it is our sacred duty to never forget the events that transpired on that painful day in our country’s history. So future generations can be reminded that when Americans from all walks of life unite together we are stronger as a country.  Let’s us remember Sept 12 as well, when our nation was one. 

WHEREAS, since 9/11 least us not forget the Military men and women who have answered the call to defend our freedom. 

THEREFORE, be it proclaimed by the City Council of the City of Kyle, Texas, that, in solidarity we honor the lives lost when our country was “attacked” 19 years ago.  The Mayor and the City Council of the City of Kyle resolve that September 11th 2020 as  

“National Day of Solidarity” 

in Kyle.  We will never forget.
