KYLE, TEXAS –– Grab your aprons, get that blend of secret spices set, and go to KyleFair.com to enter the Kyle Fair a Tex-Travaganza Rib, ‘Rita, and Fajita Contests. 

This year, we’re calling all rib masters, margarita mixologists, and fajita fanatics to test their recipes against the best and be crowned the next Ribs, ‘Ritas, or Fajitas Champions at the 2nd Annual Kyle Fair.  

Contests will be judged by Kyle Fairgoers through People’s Choice Judging and by a Panel of Judges. Contests will take place on the following dates and times.  

Friday, May 17: 

  • Kyle Fair ‘Rita Contest 
    • Contest Judging – 7-7:30 p.m.  
    • People’s Choice Judging – 7:30-10 p.m. 

Saturday, May 18: 

  • Kyle Fajita Contest 
    • Contest Judging – 1:30-2 p.m.  
    • People’s Choice Judging – 2-3:30 p.m. 
  • Kyle Fair Rib Contest 
    • Contest Judging – 5:30-6 p.m.  
    • People’s Choice Judging – 6:30-8 p.m. 

Teams are not allowed to sell or serve the public unless a wristband is visible on the recipient. Teams are not allowed to sell or serve the public beyond the listed People’s Choice Judging times. 

Teams participating in all contests must provide an ingredient list in case of allergies. Z’Tejas, an official sponsor, will provide all tequila for the ‘Rita contest. U.S. Foods, an official sponsor, will provide serving plates, utensils, napkins, and gloves for all competitions. 

Pre-registration and a fee are required to participate in all contests. Participants may compete in more than one contest. Applications and fees are due by Wednesday, May 1.

The Kyle Fair A Tex-Travaganza is a three-day, family friendly fair that includes live music, carnival rides and games, the Gathering of the Kyles official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS ™ attempt, the first-ever Jackalope 5k Fun Run, and more! 

Entry to the Kyle Fair A Tex-Travaganza is free, including attendance to live music performances. Carnival rides, games and vendors will charge independently.
