City of Kyle Economic Development to Host Keep Kyle Thriving Business Symposium

KYLE, TEXAS – To kick off National Small Business Week, the City of Kyle Economic Development Department will host the Keep Kyle Thriving Business Symposium on Monday, May 1 from 3 – 5 p.m. at Kyle City Hall, 100 W. Center St. This event is free and open to the public and is meant to help businesses thrive in Kyle. 

City of Kyle staff will be on hand to share information on the development and permitting processes and current and future business owners will be able to connect with resources and tools to successfully grow or start a business in Kyle.  

Participants will hear directly from the City’s Economic Development, Planning and Building Departments. Tables will be set up around the room for attendees to meet and gather information from the following partners: 

  • Scott Chatten of SCORE, an organization with a mission of fostering vibrant small business communities through mentoring and education; 
  • Verrachai “Ty” Turapan from Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area; 
  • Riccardo Canova the Central Texas Community Relations Specialist with the Office of the Governor’s Economic Development department;  
  • Peg Richmond with Texas State University- Small Business Development Center; 
  • Marcus Pacheco, Director of Hays County Development Services; 
  • Maggie Gillespie, Manager of Business Retention and Expansion and Ted Groholske, Manager of Workforce Development from the Greater San Marcos Partnership; and 
  • Julie Snyder, CEO of the Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce. 

Topics covered will range from writing a business plan, choosing a business location, financing your business, business structure and registration, business tax responsibilities, business licenses and permits by business type, and business employer requirements.
