KYLE, TEXAS –– The City of Kyle Parks and Recreation Department invites the community to join them for the groundbreaking ceremonies of three new features coming to City of Kyle Parks including an inclusive playground and two splash pads and the second Greg-Clarke Park Public Engagement Session.

Lake Kyle Park Inclusive Playground Groundbreaking:

On Monday, July 24 a groundbreaking ceremony will be held for the Lake Kyle Park Inclusive Playground at 9 a.m. at 700 Lehman Road. Attendees will be able to see renderings of what the new playground will look like and the features it will have. They will also be able to talk with City Staff and ask questions.

The groundbreaking will include a ceremonial turning of the dirt and brief remarks by the City. The inclusive playground is estimated to be completed by September 2023.

Splash Pad Groundbreakings:

On Thursday, July 27 groundbreaking ceremonies will be held for the Steeplechase Park Splash Pad at 9 a.m. at 295 Hallie Dr. and the Gregg-Clarke Park Splash Pad at 10 a.m. at 1231 W. Center St. Both groundbreakings will include a ceremonial turning of the dirt and brief remarks by the City.

Once completed, the Gregg-Clarke Park Splash Pad will be 3,000-square-feet and will have several water features including a water tower, rain wall, dumping buckets and custom hoops just to name a few. It will also have shade canopies, picnic tables, benches, and changing rooms.

The Steeplechase Park Splash Pad will be 2,300-square-feet and will have several water features including a giant dumping bucket, a two-headed sunflower, two mushroom showers, and water cannons to name a few. It will also have shade canopies, picnic tables, and benches.

Both projects are estimated to be completed in the Fall of 2023.

Gregg-Clarke Skatepark Public Engagement Session #2:

On Thursday, August 3 the City of Kyle Parks and Recreation Department will host the second Gregg-Clarke Skatepark Public Engagement Session from 6-8 p.m. at Kyle City Hall’s Falcon Room, 100 W. Center St.

At this event, participants will have an opportunity to see the Gregg-Clarke Park Conceptual Plans and provide input. We strongly encourage individuals with knowledge of and interest in Skatepark design and implementation to attend this event and help us build on the ideas crafted in the initial engagement session.

Those unable to attend the engagement session are encouraged to give their input through our digital survey opening Thursday, Aug. 3 and closing Thursday, Aug. 17.

Funding for this project comes from the passage of Proposition B in 2030, which provided $10 million in bond funding for the creation and improvement of parks and trails in the City of Kyle.
