A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KYLE, TEXAS, HONORING THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF ARMANDO CHAPA, LONG TIME EDUCATOR AND COMMUNITY MEMBER OF KYLE, TEXAS, WHOSE CAREER WAS DEDICATED TO EDUCATE, INSPIRE STUDENTS, ADMINISTRATORS IN CITY OF KYLE, TO MAKE A BETTER PLACE FOR ALL.

WHEREAS, Armando Chapa, a long-time educator, principal and student counselor who championed advocacy and education for all students, and we are blessed to have experienced his influence at Hays Consolidated Independent School District in Hays County, TX; and

WHEREAS, Armando Chapa whose passion, creativeness, and courage, led and provided opportunities for generations of students and administrators in the City of Kyle thru his guidance, and wisdom as principle at Hays Middle and Wallace Middle School; and

WHEREAS, In September 2006, Armando Chapa was honored to be given the namesake of a new middle school, Armando Chapa Middle School, within the Hays Consolidated Independent School District in Kyle, TX which is the home of the Chapa Cougars; and

WHEREAS, For many years, Armando Chapa, along with his family, was a devoted parishioner who was spiritually dedicated in his Catholic faith, and service to his community at St Anthony Marie de Claire Catholic Church in Kyle, TX; and

WHEREAS, Armando Chapa, a devoted husband to Evangelina, loving father to his daughters, Veronica, Cynthia, Rebecca, Jessica and Cassandra, by providing support of love, grace, compassion, but most of all demonstrated the importance of family and education.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KYLE, TEXAS, THAT: The City Council Recognizes Armando Chapa’s professional achievements and his contributions to the City of Kyle and specifically to the citizens of Kyle, former students and administrators; and expresses its appreciation and gratitude for those contributions as his legacy.

This resolution will become effective immediately upon its passage by the Kyle City Council.
