Parks and Recreation Professionals Day Proclamation

WHEREAS parks and recreation is an integral part of communities throughout this country, including The City of Kyle; and

WHEREAS the City of Kyle recognizes the importance and benefits of park and recreation services that enrich the lives of its community members, and help make this community a desirable place to live, work, play and visit; and

WHEREAS The City of Kyle City Council recognizes that the field of parks and recreation is a diverse and comprehensive system; and

WHEREAS The City of Kyle supports the skilled work of park and recreation professionals to strengthen community cohesion and resiliency, connect people with nature and each other, and provide and promote opportunities for healthy living, equity and environmental sustainability; and

WHEREAS The City of Kyle values the essential services that park, and recreation professionals and volunteers perform to provide, and to ensure our parks, trails, and recreational spaces are clean, safe, welcoming and ready to use; and

WHEREAS the U.S. House of Representatives has designated July as Parks and Recreation Month; and

WHEREAS the City of Kyle City Kyle has designated July as Parks and Recreation Month.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the City Council of Kyle, TX:

That July 15th shall hereafter be known as

“Parks and Recreation Professionals Day”

in Kyle, Texas.

Adopted this 5th day of July 2022.
