Proclamation Recognizing the Achievement of Dylan Mumma

IN COMPLETING A 292-MILE JOURNEY ON A KAYAK ALONG THE COLORADO RIVER.

WHEREAS, Dylan Mumma, began his journey along the Colorado River from the FM 973 Bridge in east Austin on the morning of July 27 and reached Matagorda Bay in the Gulf of Mexico around 9 p.m. on August 1; and

WHEREAS, Dylan Mumma along the way camped out in his kayak under bridge crossings and boat ramps and encountered and successfully navigated natural dangers and wildlife using skills garnered from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and other important resources; and

WHEREAS, Dylan Mumma, a Kyle resident since 2016, met people in communities all along the Colorado River during his trip and represented the endurance, tenacity and strength of will of the residents of Kyle while on his journey.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the City Council of the City of Kyle, Texas that:

The City Council Recognizes Dylan Mumma’s achievement of traveling almost 300 miles on a solo journey along the Colorado River.
