KYLE, TEXAS –– Applications are now open for Team Kyle Academy, a 7-week program meant to foster public involvement, inform residents about city services and departments, and create a more connected and public service-focused community in the City of Kyle.  

Throughout the academy, residents will be educated about Kyle’s infrastructure, public safety measures, business growth, and everything that goes into the quality of life enjoyed by Kyle residents.  

Applications for Team Kyle Academy are open March 1 – 31. Following City Council action on Tuesday, Feb. 20 Team Kyle Academy is open to more members, growing to a limit of 30 participants in 2024 from a limit of 24 participants in 2023.  

Qualified applicants will be chosen on a first-come, first-served basis and any applicants not chosen will be put on a waiting list for future classes. Participation is free, and there is no application fee required. Dinner will be provided for each class.  

To qualify for the Team Kyle Academy, participants must fill out a liability waiver and fulfill the following qualifications: 

  • 18 years old or older;  
  • Have no current civil or criminal litigation with the City of Kyle or any employees or officials; 
  • Must not be an elected official for the City of Kyle. 

The program takes place on Mondays from April 15 – May 20 from 6-8 p.m. in City Council Chambers, unless designated otherwise. No Team Kyle Academy meetings will be held on Monday, May 27. The Academy will also feature three Field Days where participants will be encouraged to attend City of Kyle Events. Graduation will take place Tuesday, June 4 at Kyle City Hall during the scheduled City Council meeting.  

Those chosen to participate in Team Kyle Academy are only allowed to miss one class to graduate.
