Sidewalks

The City of Kyle’s ordinance on sidewalk maintenance (below) states that it is the property owner’s responsibility to keep the sidewalk in good condition.  With that said, we have a sidewalk lifting program that we use to assist in some situations for the good of our community. The election of the city to facilitate such a repair does not remove the requirement upon the property owner to properly maintain sidewalk and in no way absolves the property owner from liability.

Please be advised that City of Kyle has a limited amount of funding to repair sidewalks for the entire community and must therefore prioritize repair requests based on the need to protect public safety. The Streets Division will investigate the damaged sidewalk and prioritize scheduling of the repair based on the severity of the impact to safe use of the sidewalk.
